Child in critical condition after fall from apartment

London police say a child is in critical condition after falling from an apartment building.

Emergency crews were called to a building on 301 Baseline Road West around 1:45 p.m. Thursday after a young child had fallen.

Middlesex London Paramedic Service (MLPS) paramedics rushed the child to hospital. It's not known from what floor the child fell from.

"The height of the fall was undetermined at the time and we're not able to confirm the age of the child," said MLPS Public Information Officer Miranda Bothwell. "They were [the child] in stable condition at the time, but due to the mechanism of their injury we did transport [them] as serious."

While it's not been confirmed as to how the child fell, many of the units at 301 Baseline, part of a two-building complex called Garden Vista Apartments, are under visible renovation and some are missing guardrails. The complex is currently managed by Skyline Living.
