Safety warning issued after London man charged with sexual assault

Police have issued a public safety warning after an investigation led to sexual assault charges against a London man.

On May 11, 2022, London police launched an investigation after they received serious allegations against a male suspect and alleged activities that happened at his construction business. Police say the reported incidents took place between January and May of this year.

As a result, 61-year-old Ibrahim Serter has been charged with two counts of sexual assault and another two counts of sexual exploitation. He appeared in court on Wednesday and was since released.

Police believe there may be other victims and have released a photo of Serter in the interest of public safety. The public is asked not to approach the suspect if seen in public. Additional concerns should be made directly to the London Police Service.

Possible victims, anyone who suspects someone of being a victim, or those with information about the alleged incidents or other incidents, is asked to contact the police at 519-661-5670. Tips can also be sent anonymously online to London-Elgin-Middlesex Crime Stoppers.
