London police say a 16-year-old is charged after windows and other property were damaged at a Westmount-area high school.

Police were called to Saunders Secondary School on Tuesday after reports that a teen was smashing windows and damaging other property with a metal bar.

When police arrived, the teen was taken into custody without incident. No injuries were reported.

Damage is estimated at $8,000.

The 16-year-old, who can't be named due to his age, is charged with one count of property damage over $5,000.

He is scheduled to appear in court in July.
