One injured in serious south London crash

London police say one person had to be cut from a car after a crash along Southdale Road Thursday evening.

The two-vehicle crash happened around 5:30 p.m. police say. Emergency crews responded to the scene in the area of Southdale Road East and Nixon Avenue.

Fire crews reportedly extricated one driver from a vehicle and they have taken to hospital by paramedics.

No details on the extent of the injuries, or possible fatalities, have been confirmed by police at this time.

Southdale between Nixon/Ernest Drive and Dundalk Drive was closed for several hours while police investigated and crews cleared the scene. Just before midnight, police confirmed the area was reopened.

Investigators with the Traffic Management Unit continue to investigate the cause of the crash.
