Guns, ammo stolen in Strathroy smash-and-grab

Strathroy-Caradoc police are trying to track down two people who broke into the local Canadian Tire store and made off with guns and ammunition.

The pair smashed the glass door on the front of the store on Adelaide Road in order to get inside around 5 a.m. on Wednesday. They then allegedly went directly to the sporting goods department and broke the display case and secure cabinets that held firearms and ammunition.

The suspects then went out the way they came in and were last seen heading southbound on Adelaide in what appeared to be a dark coloured late 90s or early 2000’s GMC Jimmy or Chevrolet Blazer, police said.

Police have not indicated how many guns or how much ammunition was taken. The investigation is ongoing.

Anyone with information about this break-in is asked to call police at 519-245-1250 or Crime Stoppers 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
