St . Thomas Police responded to a clinic in the south end of the city for a reported disturbance.
According to police, a 38-year-old man became unruly around 9 a.m. on Saturday.
"He took a large bottle and threw it at police," police said in a statement.
The man was taken into custody and transported to the police station for a court appearance.
"The male’s behaviour continued while being processed at the police station," police said. The man is alleged to have damaged property at both the clinic and the police station.
The man is charged with assaulting a peace officer and assault with a weapon.
