Charges laid in fatal hit and run

Nearly two weeks after a hit and run collision caused the death of a London woman, charges have been laid against a man alleged to have been the driver.

On November 10, a man and woman were walking on Spruce Street around 9:40 p.m. when both were hit by a driver, who then fled the scene. The man suffered minor injuries, but the woman had to be rushed to hospital, where she died of her injuries.

The victim has now been identified as Sarah Courtney Dixon, 37, of London.

On Tuesday, police announced that Montaser Al Sabbagh, 32, of London, has been charged with failing to stop at the scene of an accident causing death and public mischief.

Police say he has been released from custody with a court date of February 7, 2022.
