Two people injured during hit-and-run in east London

London police say a woman is in serious condition after she was hit by a vehicle that took off after a crash in the city's east end Wednesday night.

At around 9:40 p.m. November 10, police say a man and a woman were walking on Spruce Street near Wavell Street when they were hit by a vehicle. The driver fled from the area and emergency crews were called.

Paramedics arrived a short time later to take the pair to hospital. Police say the woman sustained life-threatening injuries, while the man only sustained minor injuries.

The suspect vehicle was last seen driving south on Spruce Street towards Wavell Street according to witnesses. The car is described as a newer-style silver sedan which may have damage to the passenger side mirror and body of the vehicle.

Anyone in the area at the time of the crash, or who may have dash-cam or security footage that could help with the investigation is urged to call London police at 519-661-5670.

The investigation is ongoing and has been assigned to members of the Traffic Management Unit.
