Police seek possible witness to fatal hit and run

Provincial police in Oxford County are looking for a person who may be able to help them in their investigation of a fatal hit and run near Thamesford.

Mary Hendriksen, 60, of Thamesford died after her golf cart was struck by a vehicle on the 15th Line in Zorra Township on Tuesday. According to police, the driver of the vehicle did not stop at the scene. A 35-year-old Lakeside man was later arrested and charged with failing to stop at the scene of an accident causing death.

Police issued a news release on Thursday, asking the driver of a light-coloured pickup truck to contact them. It's believed that driver was travelling on the 15th Line between 11:45 a.m. and 12: 15 p.m..

"It is believed that the driver or passengers may have witnessed something in relation to the collision," police said.
