Additional COVID-19 cases at Thames Valley schools

While the number of active cases at local schools has declined, additional cases of COVID-19 have been detected at schools in London and St. Thomas.

The Thames Valley District School Board (TVDSB) announced on Monday that cases had been identified at Ashley Oaks Public School and Elgin Court Public School. Any close contacts of the infected individuals have been notified by the local health units and advised to quarentine at home for 10 days.

"Thames Valley wishes to assure the community that all staff, parents and guardians of the school communities were immediately notified," the school board said in a news release. "Thames Valley is following all health and safety protocols recommended by both the local public health unit and the Ministry of Education, and schools remain safe places to attend."

While the TVDSB reported more than 50 active cases over the weekend, that number has dropped to around 22 active cases. For more information about active cases at schools under the school board's purview, click here.
