Wilberforce Public School temporarily closed due to COVID-19

The Thames Valley District School Board has closed Wilberforce Public School because of a rise in COVID-19 cases.

In a statement, the board's administration says it decided to close the school because it was a challenge to operate with COVID-19 cases impacting several classes.

All students at Wilberforce Public School will now transition to virtual learning until the school reopens Monday, November 8.

Classroom teachers are in the process of contacting families with information about virtual learning. Families requiring technology to support students to access virtual learning are asked to contact the school office.

"The safety of all students, staff, and community members is a priority and decisions related to school closures are not made lightly," the statement said.
