COVID-19 cases detected at four local schools

New confirmed or probable cases of COVID-19 at four Thames Valley schools will be keeping several students home for the rest of the week.

The Thames Valley District School Board announced Monday evening that cases had been identified at Harrisfield Public School, Kensal Park French Immersion Public School, Roch Carrier French Immersion Public School, and Springbank Public School.

“Thames Valley wishes to assure the community that all staff, parents and guardians of the school communities were immediately notified,” the school board said in a news release. “Thames Valley is following all health and safety protocols recommended by both the local public health unit and the Ministry of Education, and schools remain safe places to attend.”

Staff and students who were in close contact with the infected individuals will be contacted and advised to quarantine at home for ten days.
