Several students in Ingersoll and London are being told to stay home next week after multiple cases of COVID-19 were identified at two local schools.
The Thames Valley District School Board announced on Saturday that cases of the virus had been detected at Clara Brenton Public School and Harrisfield Public School. There are currently two active cases at each school and an outbreak has been declared at Harrisfield.
"Thames Valley is following all health and safety protocols recommended by both the local public health unit and the Ministry of Education, and schools remain safe places to attend," the school board said in a news release.
All staff and students who have been identified as close contacts of the infected individuals will be advised to stay home and quarantine for 10 days. Those who are not contacted are not considered to be at risk.
