London man killed in crash in Cambridge

A single-vehicle crash in Cambridge has claimed the life of a 25-year-old London man.

Emergency crews were called to the collision on Shantz Hill Road near Preston Parkway around 3 a.m. on Thursday.

"The driver of a white Lexus lost control of the vehicle, left the roadway, and struck a hydro pole," Waterloo Regional police said in a statement.

The driver, a 25-year-old man from London, was pronounced dead at the scene. His name has not been released.

The roadway is expected to be closed for much of the day Thursday as hydro crews work to repair damage to the pole.

The investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing.
