COVID-19 cases identified at schools in London, Woodstock, Tillsonburg

The Thames Valley District School Board has confirmed more cases of COVID-19 within three of its schools.

The latest cases were identified late Thursday at Annandale Public School in Tillsonburg, Eastdale Public School in Woodstock, and Wilfrid Jury Public School in London. While these are the first active cases this school year for Annandale Public and Eastdale Public, Wilfrid Jury Public now has two active and three resolved cases.

The health unit is working to identify close contacts of the infected individuals .

"If you do not receive a letter from Thames Valley indicating the public health unit has identified your child as a close contact, your child is not considered to be at risk," the school board said in a statement. "Only those staff and students who have been identified as a close contact will be notified and advised to stay home from school and quarantine for a period of 10 days."

There are currently 17 active cases at 14 schools within the Thames Valley board. The London District Catholic School Board has eight active cases at five of its schools. Outbreaks remain at Ryerson Public School, London Christian High, and St. Kateri Elementary School.

All schools remain open.
