Armed robbery suspects posed as construction workers: police

Woodstock police are investigating an armed robbery in which two men dressed as construction workers forced their way inside of a home.

The men were both wearing orange and yellow reflective vests and hard hats when they knocked on the front door of a home on Masters Drive around 1:30 p.m. on Thursday. When the homeowner opened the door the pair forced their way inside and pulled out a gun, police said.

The men then stole an undisclosed amount of designer jewelry and designer bags. They left in a charcoal coloured, older model Ford Escape, heading eastbound on Oxford Road 17.

Police believe this was a targeted incident and there is no risk to public safety.

A surveillance image of the two men was released on Friday. Police are asking the public for help identifying the suspects. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 519-537-2323 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
