Knights trample Spits 4-3 in a shootout

The London Knights remain undefeated after three games following a 4-3 shootout victory against the Windsor Spitfires on Monday.

Stuart Rolofs and Luke Evangelista scored for London in the first period to give the Knights a 2-0 lead heading into the second.

Wyatt Johnston scored for the Spitfires 3:45 into the second to cut London's advantage in half, and Matthew Maggio added another goal for Windsor early in the third to tie the game.

Ryan Abraham scored 6:14 into the final frame to give the Spitfires the advantage, but Evangelista scored his second goal of the night with just over five minutes left in the period to tie the game and force OT.

After no scoring in overtime, the Knights capitalized in a shootout to earn the win.

Knights goalie Brett Brochu made 35 saves out of 38 shots on net, while Windsor goaltender Xavier Medina made 29 saves out of 32 shots on net.

The Spits and the Knights will face off again on Friday. The puck drops at 7:30 p.m. in London.
