The Middlesex London Health Unit is reporting 26 new infections Saturday, down three cases from the previous day.
No new deaths have been reported since Friday after public health officials announced the death of a woman in her 70s.
The number of active cases in the community, as of Saturday, is 195.
The London Health Sciences Centre says it is caring for 10 patients with COVID-19. Five or fewer are in intensive care. None of the COVID-19 patients are at Children’s Hospital. The LHSC currently has fewer than five staffers who have tested positive for the virus.
Southwestern Public Health, the health unit for Elgin and Oxford counties, reported 16 new cases on Friday. No deaths were reported. The two counties have a total of 84 active cases.
An outbreak at Dearness Home that was declared on Wednesday is still in effect. There are also outbreaks at four schools. An outbreak at St. Kateri Catholic School was added to the list Friday, joining Lord Elgin Public School, St. Catherine of Siena Catholic elementary school, and the London Christian High School.
Provincially, there were 654 new cases reported Saturday, along with two additional deaths. Of the new infections reported Saturday, 464 cases involved people who are either unvaccinated, partially vaccinated, or their vaccination status is unknown.
There are 258 people in the hospital being treated for COVID. Of those, 153 are in intensive care.
