London man facing half a dozen child pornography charges

A 38-year-old London man has been dealt multiple child pornography-related charges after investigators say they discovered a classified ad that appeared to be capable of potentially putting a child in danger.

Back in early September, members of the London Police Service Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) Unit were reportedly informed of the classified advertisement, which appeared to be exploitive, according to investigators.

On Wednesday, police announced they arrested a suspect Monday relating to alleged offences involving a young female.

Richard John Stepien, 38, of London faces several charges which include unlawful possession of child pornography, import, sell or distribute child pornography; print, publish or possess to publish child pornography; conspiracy to commit an indictable offence, making a telecommunication agreement to commit a specific criminal offence, and failure to comply with an undertaking.

The accused was released from custody after he appeared in court on Monday with the expectation to re-appear in court on October 28.
