Three more COVID-19 cases at two London-area schools

More confirmed cases of COVID-19 have been identified at schools in London and Woodstock.

The Thames Valley District School Board reported the new cases late Wednesday night. Two of the infections were at Kensal Park French Immersion Public School on Springbank Drive in London, the other one was at Oliver Stephens Public School on Fyfe Avenue in Woodstock.

All staff, parents, and guardians of students in the school have been notified. The health unit is working to identify close contacts of the infected individuals .

"If you do not receive a letter from Thames Valley indicating the public health unit has identified your child as a close contact, your child is not considered to be at risk," the school board said in a statement. "Only those staff and students who have been identified as a close contact will be notified and advised to stay home from school and quarantine for a period of 10 days."

Both schools remain open.

There are currently 15 active cases at 14 schools within the Thames Valley District school board.

The London District Catholic school board has 14 active cases at eight schools, while Conseil Scolaire Viamonde is dealing with an ongoing outbreak at École élémentaire La Pommeraie.
