Emergency crews called to house fire in Old North

London firefighters say everyone is safe following a house fire that broke out in the city's Old North neighbourhood late Wednesday afternoon.

Sometime after 5 p.m., emergency crews responded to the home on Regent Street near Harrison Avenue after it caught ablaze. London police arrived to assist and have advised the public to avoid the area.

According to the London Fire Department, all occupants made it out of the home safely. No injuries have been reported.

Just before 7 p.m. Wednesday, crews were on scene putting out hot spots at the back of the home. Firefighters are also utilizing aerial operations for overhaul where the fire appeared to cause the most damage.

Fire investigators were called to the scene to determine the source of the fire, a damage estimate has not been provided.
