Walk-in vaccine clinic to open at White Oaks Mall

Those needing a first or second dose of a COVID-19 vaccine will have the option to get one while doing some shopping at White Oaks Mall.

Starting Tuesday morning, the Middlesex-London Health Unit will open another mall-based clinic at White Oaks Mall in an effort to offer an easy and convenient method of vaccination in neighbourhoods that have lower vaccine rates.

The launch of this clinic follows a 13-day run at CF Masonville Place where over 2,500 vaccines were administered, 52 per cent of which were first doses.

"The success of our first mall-based clinic has shown that providing the COVID-19 vaccine in a retail setting is a viable and effective way to reach people who may not have been able to attend one of the mass vaccination or pop-up clinics," said Chief Medical Officer of Health Dr. Chris Mackie.

Mackie noted that the demand for vaccines is expected to be steady as the provincial government's proof of vaccination plan comes into effect on September 22.

Those interested in getting a vaccine at White Oaks Mall can attend the clinic located inside the mall between Bath and Body Works and Sephora anytime during the hours of 11 a.m. and 7 p.m. on weekdays and 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. on weekends.

The clinic will operate until September 25.
