London man arrested after downtown stabbing incident

London police say they've arrested a man who allegedly chased and stabbed another person over the weekend.

At around 3:45 p.m Saturday, officers responded to a weapons incident near Queens Avenue and Wellington Street. According to police, a victim was pursued and stabbed by a male suspect who then fled on a bicycle.

The victim was taken to hospital and treated for serious but non-life threatening injuries.

Not quite two hours later, a suspect was located and arrested by police in the area of King and Richmond streets. A search of the man yielded two knives.

As a result, a 32-year-old London man was charged with aggravated assault and carrying a concealed weapon.

The accused appeared in court on Sunday.
