Separate stabbings lead to charges

A London man is charged after a stabbing on Mornington Avenue.

Police were called around 4:30 a.m. Thursday after an altercation involving two men who knew each other ended when one stabbed the other.

"The victim contacted emergency services from his residence in the east end of the city, and was transported to hospital with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries," police said. "The entire incident was captured on video surveillance. The suspect was arrested without incident."

A 22-year-old man is charged with one count of aggravated assault.

Police also announced Friday that a 19-year-old is charged after a 17-year-old suffered serious injuries in a stabbing Thursday afternoon. Around 4:30 p.m., police were called to Culver Drive near Third Street, where a stabbing had occured.

"Police attended the area, and a male suspect was arrested," police said. "The victim was transported to hospital with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries."

Police added that, while the suspect and victim did not know each other, investigators determined that this was not a random incident.

A 19-year-old is charged with aggravated assault and failing to comply with an undertaking.
