Attempted murder charge laid after man set on fire

A 33-year-old man is now charged with attempted murder after a fight in southeast London over the weekend ended with one man being set on fire.

London police were called about an "altercation" between several people in the area of Thompson Road and Jaqueline Street around 5:15 p.m. on Saturday.

When officers arrived on scene they found a man on fire. They were able to extinguish the flames and the 66-year-old man was taken to hospital where he remained in life-threatening condition on Monday morning.

Kristifor Jiva Radovanovici, 33, of London was arrested. A knife and ammunition were seized.

Radovanovici is charged with nine offences including attempted murder, possession of a firearm or ammunition contrary to prohibition order, and breach of probation.

He is scheduled to appear in London court on Monday.
