Man accused of committing indecent act in front of mom and child

Provincial police in Norfolk County are investigating an incident where an unknown man is said to have acted inappropriately in a park towards a mother and her 10-year-old child.

Officers say they were called to investigate an indecent act on Crescent Boulevard in Simcoe at around 12:45 p.m. Thursday.

According to police, A mom and her child were sitting at a picnic table next to Dingle Creek when a man approached them and sat nearby. The accused is said to have waved at both victims and then committed an indecent act. The pair immediately left the area and contacted police.

The suspect involved in the interaction is described as a white man, around 50-years-old, medium height with brown hair. During the incident, he was wearing brown sunglasses, a blue t-shirt with a muscle shirt underneath and jean shorts.

Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) in Norfolk continues to investigate and is asking any businesses or homeowners near the area who have video surveillance to check their footage to see if the suspect was captured on camera.
