Logan Mailloux, a London Knight with NHL talent, is asking teams to pass on drafting him this weekend.
The 18-year-old defenceman was projected by some to go as early as the first round. But, last week a story surfaced that he took photos of an 18-year-old woman performing a sex act on him and shared the photos with teammates while playing with SK Lejon.
Mailloux was convicted in Sweden and paid fines in relation to the incident.
According to reporting from Daily Faceoff and The Athletic, nearly a dozen NHL teams had put Mailloux on a "Do Not Draft" list.
On Tuesday, Mailloux issued his request to NHL teams on his Twitter account, asking that they not select him in the draft, which runs Friday and Saturday.

"I feel this would allowed me the opportunity to demonstrate an adequate level of maturity and character next Season with the London Knights in the NHL and provide NHL Teams the opportunity to reassess my character towards the 2022 NHL Draft," Mailloux wrote.
Last week, the Knights issued a statement on the matter saying they'd be "working with Logan, ensuring that he is accessing supports that are in place to help him better understand his actions".

Mailloux has apologized for the incident, but the victim told The Athletic that "all (she) wanted was a heartfelt apology".
