Three people charged after home broken into twice in one night

Charges have been laid against three Londoners after a homeowner awoke twice in one night to find strangers had broken in.

It was 1:30 a.m. on Thursday, when the occupants of the home on Mamelon Street south of Hamilton Road heard footsteps inside and found a woman who was not known to them. They asked the woman to leave, which she did without hesitation.

Then about an hour later, the occupants awoke to find two men inside the home, one armed with the baseball bat, the other with a pry bar.

The two men took off with several items from the home. No injuries were reported.

London police were called and officers arrested two men and a woman nearby. Items stolen from the home were also found.

A 36-year-old man, a 38-year-old man, and a 30-year-old woman, all from London, are charged with break and enter and theft. The three are scheduled to appear in court on August 23.
