Update: Police identify suspect after two women approached

London police say they have now identified a pick-up truck driver after two women were approached in separate incidents last week.

Police say last Tuesday at around 5 p.m., a 19-year-old woman was walking on Cleveland Avenue when a man driving a grey truck stopped his vehicle and asked her if she wanted a ride. He drove off when the woman declined to get into the truck and she later contacted police.

In another report two days later, an 18-year-old woman walking in the area of Marconi Boulevard and Noel Street called police after she was approached by a man in a vehicle who asked her to get inside. The young woman refused and the driver headed northbound from the area.

Neither women was hurt during the incidents, but police had been looking to speak with the driver of the truck.

In both instances, the man is described as Black or tanned-skin, approximately 50-years-old with long messy dreadlocks that come past his shoulders. He has a slim build and spoke with a heavy African or Jamaican accent. During one of the interactions, a black, yellow and red coloured hat was seen on the passenger seat.

The vehicle was described as a 2006 beige or grey Dodge Dakota with silver rims and a grey topper.

Anyone with information in relation to the incidents is asked to call London police at 519-661-5670 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
