Eight people charged after drug raids in Oxford, Elgin counties

A drug trafficking investigation that saw raids earlier this week at multiple homes in Woodstock and Oxford and Elgin counties has ended with nearly three dozen charges laid against eight people.

OPP and Woodstock police searched the homes on Wednesday seizing fentanyl, methamphetamine, cocaine, cannabis, prohibited weapons, and other property. The items seized are worth approximately $140,000.

Police did not release details about the prohibited weapons that were found during the raids.

Eight people, ranging in age from 28 to 42, are charged with a combined 35 weapons and drug offences, including possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking and unauthorized possession of a weapon. The accused are scheduled to appear in court in relation to the charges at a later date.
