$18K worth of drugs seized during traffic stop

Police in St. Thomas seized more than $18,000 worth of drugs after stopping a motorcycle with an unregistered plate.

Officers spotted the bike being operated by a man known to be a suspended driver on Monday afternoon. They were able to stop the motorcycle and arrest the man without incident.

During a search, officers found 32 grams of fentanyl, 17 grams of crystal methamphetamine, and a quantity of Ritalin and Hydromorphone tablets. A flick knife, a wooden baton, drug paraphernalia, and $1,000 cash were also seized.

A 33-year-old St. Thomas man is charged with two counts of possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking, three counts of drug possession, unauthorized possession of a weapon, and driving while suspended.
