No charges laid in fatal pedestrian crash in St. Thomas

St. Thomas police say the investigation into a fatal pedestrian crash late last month is complete.

Emergency crews were called after a 73-year-old woman was struck by a vehicle while crossing northbound on Redan Street near First Avenue on the afternoon of April 26.

Paramedics arrived to take the woman to the hospital where she later succumbed to her injuries.

The driver of the vehicle waited at the scene while emergency crews arrived.

On Monday, investigators with the Traffic Collision Reconstruction Team say the driver, who was also facing north on Redan Street, turned left on an advanced green light when they collided with the woman who was already on the crosswalk.

Police say no charges are being laid against the driver.

No names have been released.
