People 50-plus in London region now eligible to book COVID-19 vaccine

Starting Thursday, anyone aged 50 and up in the London area can start booking COVID-19 appointments at any of the region's mass vaccination sites.

With the province wishing to vaccinate all adults by the end of May, both the Middlesex London Health Unit and Southwestern Public Health announced that anyone born in 1971 or earlier can book a spot to get their first dose of the vaccine starting May 6 at 8 a.m.

Some essential workers who cannot work from home are also included in the new round of eligibility. School workers, emergency workers, enforcement and by-law workers, food manufacturers and farm workers can also schedule appointments. Workers will require a username and password from their employer to book an appointment.

Adults aged 40 and up, along with a second group of workers who can't work from home, are expected to become eligible the week of May 10.
