Home invasion under investigation in Waterford

Provincial police in Norfolk County are investigating a home invasion.

According to OPP, three unknown men went to a Church Street West address in Waterford around 12:50 a.m. Thursday and forcibly gained entry into the residence.

Once inside, the suspects confronted the homeowner and brandished an edged weapon. The residence was then ransacked and a quantity of currency was taken.

All three suspects then fled from the house and left the area in an unknown direction.

No injuries were reported during the incident.

The first suspect is described as a black male, approximately 5'10", wearing a dark COVID-19 mask, black baseball cap, black pants and dark shirt.

The second suspect is described as a white male, with long dirty blond hair in a ponytail, a nasally voice and pock-marked skin. He was wearing a red Detroit Red Wings baseball cap, a red Detroit Red Wings COVID-19 mask and plaid coat.

The third suspect is described as a white male, approximately 5'8", with a stocky build, pockmarked skin and a deep voice. He was wearing a green coat, baseball cap, and mechanic-style gloves.

The OPP is using the incident to remind the public to be extremely vigilant when any stranger arrives at your home.

The Norfolk County OPP Crime Unit is continuing to investigate and is seeking the public's assistance.
