Three charged, one hurt in violent Woodstock robbery

Charges have been laid against three people after a violent robbery that saw a man attacked inside of his own vehicle near downtown Woodstock.

According to police, a man was hiding in the back seat of the car near Mill and Dundas streets when the owner got in and was assaulted around 11:30 p.m. Wednesday. A weapon was shown during the robbery, police said.

The vehicle owner was taken to hospital with minor injuries.

The Woodstock police containment team, canine unit, criminal investigations bureau, and drugs and intelligence unit officers arrested three people in connection with the incident inside of a home on Mill Street on Thursday morning.

Two 25-year-old men, one from Woodstock and one from London, and a 24-year-old woman from Woodstock are charged with robbery with a firearm. More charges against the trio are pending.

Police said the attack and robbery was not random as the individuals involved are known to each other.
