London-Middlesex sees 10 more COVID-19 cases, zero new deaths

Daily new COVID-19 cases in London-Middlesex appear to be continuing on a downward trend.

The local health unit reported 10 new cases on Sunday, bringing the overall case count to 6,093.

Eighteen additional recoveries were also reported. So far, 5,804 individuals in the London-area have recovered from the virus. As of Sunday, 108 cases are currently active.

Since the pandemic began, 181 people have passed away from COVID-19 in the region, a number that has not changed for eight days.

There are now six institutional outbreaks, down from seven the previous day, after the outbreak at Westmount Gardens was declared over on Saturday.

Meanwhile, Southwestern Public Health, the health unit covering St. Thomas, Woodstock and Elgin and Oxford counties, reported two new cases on Sunday with the case count now at 2,457.

Across Ontario, provincial health officials logged 1,087 additional cases of the virus and 13 deaths on Sunday. The total number of cases in the province is now at 293,086 with 275,854 recoveries and 6,861 deaths.
