Two charged after loaded gun, $14K worth of cocaine seized

Charges have been laid against two Londoners after a police raid on an east-end home turned up $14,000 worth of cocaine and a loaded semi-automatic gun.

London police searched the home on Exmouth Circle and a vehicle on Thursday. Officers seized 141 grams of cocaine, a loaded stolen .45 caliber semi-automatic handgun, ammunition, a cocaine press, several digital scales and cellphones and approximately $2,100 cash.

Two London men, aged 24 and 27, were arrested. They are charged with possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking, careless storage of a firearm, possession of a firearm knowingly not holding a licence, possession of a loaded regulated firearm, and possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000.

The 24-year-old man is additionally charged with failure to comply with a release order and possession of a firearm or ammunition contrary to prohibition order.

Both men are scheduled to appear in London court in relation to the charges on Monday.
