Pedestrian hit, killed by train

A 28-year-old man is dead after being hit by a train in east London on Thursday.

London police were called to the tracks west of Clarke Road near Firestone Boulevard around 7:20 a.m. where the body of a man was found.

Police believe the man was struck by a passing locomotive.

It is unclear whether the man had been on Clarke Road or was travelling along the tracks when he was hit. The rail crossing at Clarke Road is equipped with rail crossing arms and lights.

Police have determined there was no foul play involved in the man's death. His name is not being released at the request of his family, police said.
