RCMP officer identified as London man charged in child pornography bust

The Royal Canadian Mounted Police have confirmed one of its veteran officers has been suspended after being charged in a child pornography investigation by London police.

Christopher Cisecki, 41, was charged with unlawfully possessing child pornography and unlawfully making child pornography available earlier this week. Cisecki has been with the RCMP for 15 years. He is currently a sergeant with the Ontario Division based out of London, RCMP Sgt. Lucie Lapointe confirmed in a statement on Wednesday.

Cisecki was suspended from duty after the RCMP was made aware of the charges against him.

"While these allegations, if proven true, are extremely unsettling, Canadians and our law enforcement partners can trust that our priority continues to be the integrity of the investigations and the safety and security of the public we serve," said Lapointe.

A tip from the National Child Exploitation Crime Centre about a man sharing videos of suspected child pornography through social media led London police to search a home on Mulberry Street on January 29. Officers seized computers and electronic devices from the home.

Cisecki was charged in the days that followed. He is scheduled to appear in court in relation to the charges on April 26.
