Charges have been laid against three people after London police found a loaded handgun and a quantity of drugs inside of a house on Thursday.
Police searched the home on Briscoe Street East, east of Wharncliffe Road just after 9 p.m. Inside, officers seized a loaded 9mm handgun, ammunition, 7.5 grams of suspected cocaine, 40.5 grams of suspected crack cocaine, 3.5 grams of suspected methamphetamine, three cellphones, $300 cash, and two digital scales.
Two men aged 29 and 33 and a woman, 32, all from London, were arrested. They have been charged with possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking.
The 29-year-old man also faces additional charges of careless storage of firearm or ammunition, possession of firearm contrary to prohibition order, possession of a restricted or prohibited firearm without a licence and registration certificate, possession of a loaded/unloaded regulated firearm, and breach of probation.
