Single case of COVID-19 identified at London high school

A single case of COVID-19 has been confirmed at Clarke Road Secondary School. The Thames Valley District school board (TVDSB) announced the new case Saturday.

The TVDSB said that all staff, parents and guardians of affected school communities were immediately notified. Meanwhile the Middlesex London Health Unit is working to identify any close contacts.

The school board added that only the parents of children who are at risk of exposure will be contacted by the board.

"Only those staff and students who have been identified as a close contact will be notified and advised to stay home from school and quarantine for a period of 14 days," said the school board.

The school board did not say whether the case was found in a student or a faculty member.

"Thames Valley is following all health and safety protocols recommended by both the local public health unit and the Ministry of Education, and schools remain safe places to attend," said the board.

Clarke Road Secondary has had one other case of COVID-19, reported on December 23, 2020, which has since been resolved.
