Two charged in home invasion robbery

Two people face charges after police allege they barged into a home and robbed the resident.

According to London police, a 39-year-old man was sleeping in his apartment on King Street near Talbot Street around 11:10 p.m. on Sunday, January 3 when he heard a knock at the door. When he didn't answer, the two people who knocked claimed they were police officers and then forced their way into the apartment. Police say they were armed with a hatchet and a pipe.

The resident of the apartment was assaulted and robbed of some personal property, but managed to escape and call police.

Officers arrested a male suspect, but are still looking for a female suspect.

Brian McNair, 24, and Josafina Maloney (shown above), 25, of London are each charged with robbery with violence, aggravated assault, break and enter, robbery, and impersonating a police officer.

McNair is in police custody, but officers are still looking for Maloney. Anyone who knows her whereabouts is asked to call London police (519) 661-5670 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477). Information can also be sent in online anonymously to www.londoncrimestoppers.com.
