London-Middlesex sees 15 new COVID-19 cases

There were more new recoveries from COVID-19 in the London-area on Sunday than there were new cases.

The Middlesex-London Health Unit reported 15 new cases. The total case count since the start of the pandemic is now at 1,361.

However, 21 people recovered from the virus over the past 24 hours. So far, 1,153 individuals in the London-area have recovered from the virus.

There are currently three institutional outbreaks in the region. There are no outbreaks at school settings in London-Middlesex, however, eight schools and one child care setting currently have one or more active cases of COVID-19.

Southwestern Public Health, the health unit covering St. Thomas, Woodstock, and Elgin and Oxford counties, reported eight new cases on Sunday with the total number of cases rising to 436.

Across the province, 1,248 additional cases were reported on Sunday.  The case count in Ontario now sits at 94,009, with 83 per cent of the cases listed as being recovered.
