Two COVID-19 cases confirmed at separate London schools

The Middlesex-London Health Unit has identified a pair of positive COVID-19 at two schools in London.

One case has been confirmed at Westminster Secondary School while another was confirmed at St. Nicholas Catholic Elementary School.

According to officials with The Thames Valley District School Board and the London District Catholic School Board, staff, parents and guardians of both school communities were immediately notified of the case.

Both schools will remain open and school buses will continue to operate.

"[The Middlesex-London Health Unit] is currently investigating the case and is in the process of identifying the individual’s close contacts and following up directly to provide specific testing advice," stated a media release from The Thames Valley District School Board.

Anyone not contacted by the health unit is not considered to be at risk. Health officials will only be contacting staff and students who have been identified as a close contact, and will advise them to stay home from school and quarantine for a period of 14 days.

Anyone seeking further information is advised to contact the Middlesex-London Health Unit at 519-663-5317 or visit the health unit's website.
