Another COVID-19 case at London elementary school

An additional case of COVID-19 has been confirmed at Sir Arthur Carty Catholic Elementary School in London.

The case was confirmed by the Middlesex-London Health Unit (MLHU) early Friday evening. An additional case was confirmed at the school early Friday morning.

According to a media release from the London District Catholic School Board, parents, guardians and staff within the Sir Arthur Carty school community have been notified about the latest case. The school will remain open and buses will continue to operate.

"The MLHU is currently investigating the case and is in the process of identifying close contacts," stated the release. "The MLHU will provide advice and support to close contacts in navigating this situation."

Health unit investigators will only be contacting students and staff that have been identified as close contacts. If someone is not contacted by the MLHU investigators, they are not considered to be at risk.

"Staff at Sir Arthur Carty will work with students and families to ensure learning continues for those who are self-isolating at home," said school board officials.
