A careless driving charge has been laid against a 26-year-old Stoney Creek man after a transport truck rolled into the ditch along Highway 402 near Strathroy.

The tractor trailer was heading westbound on the highway when it went off the road and rolled onto its side at Scotchmere Drive around 6:47 a.m. Tuesday, according to Middlesex OPP.

The driver, a 26-year-old man, was not hurt.

The westbound 402 at Scotchmere Drive was expected to be down to one lane for much of the morning Tuesday as crews worked to remove the damaged transport.
