A St. Thomas woman who couldn't provide identification to prove her age is accused of assaulting a delivery driver who wouldn't give her the alcohol she ordered.
According to the St. Thomas Police Service, a call came in around 8:30 p.m. Friday about a Skip the Dishes driver who was assaulted at an apartment building on Chestnut Street. Police say an intoxicated woman ordered food and alcohol through Skip the Dishes, but when the delivery driver arrived, the woman was asked to show ID as a condition of receiving the alcohol order. She was unable to do so and was offered a refund.
The driver started walking away, but was assaulted. Neighbours called 911 to report the assault and a suspect was arrested.
A 46-year-old woman is charged with assault, mischief to property under $5,000, and breach of probation.
No injuries were reported.
