Woodstock police looking for suspicious driver

Police in Woodstock are asking the public for help as they try to identify a man who allegedly followed two women and offered them rides.

According to the Woodstock Police Service, around 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, a woman was walking along Broadway Street between Dundas Street and Queen Street when a man pulled up in a pick-up truck. Pointing at the woman as he drove by, he then circled back and offered her a ride.

About 10 minutes later, another woman was followed by the man in the area of of Dundas Street and Wellington Street.

"The male driver reportedly stopped five to seven times to ask the female pedestrian if she needed a ride," police said.

In both incidents, the women described the vehicle as an older model, blue, pickup truck and the driver as a white male, believed to be approximately in his 50s.
