COVID-19 tests at Oakridge centre can be booked online

Local officials are hoping that a move to online booking will make it easier for people to get tested for COVID-19 in London.

It was announced Thursday that appointments at the Oakridge Assessment Centre can now be booked online at the centre's website, www.covidtestinglm.ca. People without internet access can still book appointments by calling 519-667-6886.

"Carling Assessment Centre continues to use the time-card appointment system until we transition to our e-booking solution," a statement from the London Health Sciences Centre and the Thames Valley Family Health Team, which operates the assessment centres, said. " Individuals requiring testing will be given an appointment time upon arrival to return to the Centre for testing."

The Oakridge Assessment Centre is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday to Friday and closed on weekends. The Carling Assessment Centre is open from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday to Friday and 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on weekends.

Testing at the two centres is reserved for people who are showing symptoms of COVID-19, have been exposed to a confirmed case, live or work in a setting that has a coronavirus outbreak, require a test because they are an essential worker or are planning a visit to a long term care facility, or need a test because they have a scheduled medical procedure or cancer treatment.
