Woodstock police investigate pair of stabbings

Police in Woodstock are investigating two, unrelated stabbings in the city on Friday.

Around 2:30 p.m., officers responded to the area of Dundas Street and Marlboro Street for a report of a person in need of medical assistance.

The victim was transported to Woodstock General Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Shortly after, a male suspect was located and arrested.

As a result, 42-year-old Vaughn Spruce of Woodstock has been charged with aggravated assault, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, fail to comply with probation and fail to comply with a release order.

Then at around 5:40 p.m., police responded to the area of Norwich Avenue and Juliana Drive for a report of a person needing medical assistance.

The victim in that incident was transported to Woodstock General Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and the investigation is on-going.

According to Woodstock police, the incidents were targeted acts and the suspect and victim were known to each other.
